About the Illustration

An enormous fantastical bird sweeps across a turquoise sky above a distant palace. Long tail feathers and outstretched wings dominate the image, while the pale towers below establish its extraordinary scale. A bold and immediately recognisable fantasy subject, with a strong silhouette and unusually dramatic composition.
