Original Order of Service from the wedding of Prince George, Duke of York (later King George V), and Princess Victoria Mary of Teck (later Queen Mary). This extremely rare artifact documents their marriage ceremony, which took place in the Chapel Royal of St. James's Palace on July 6, 1893.
Where this differs from others is it is distinguished by its Purple Velvet Binding and 22 Carat Gilt Blocking. This is therefore not a standard issue Order of Service. The luxurious purple velvet binding signifies its use by senior members of the Royal Family, making it an exceptionally rare and desirable collectible. The vibrant purple, though aged with some wear to rear, retains its regal charm, a testament to the importance of this occasion. It is possible this is the bride, Princess Victoria Mary of Teck (later Queen Mary's) own copy from the annotation "Queen Mary" on the title page.
King George V and Queen Mary played pivotal roles in British history, navigating the nation through significant periods of change.Their wedding marked the beginning of a remarkable partnership and this Order of Service serves as a tangible link to that historic day.
