Wider Description Of The Collection:

This exceptional Art Deco magazine, "La Guirlande: album mensuel d’art et littérature," was a collaborative effort led by fashion director Umberto Brunelleschi. Published in Paris between 1919 and 1921, "La Guirlande" was and still is, very rare - when printed it was limited to 800 numbered copies, showcasing the finest Art Deco talent of the era.

The magazine featured contributions from leading artists of the time, including Umberto Brunelleschi, George Barbier, Bonnette, Blanche, and Taquoy. Jean Saude expertly hand-coloured the fashion lithographs using the pochoir technique, adding much to the  collectible value of these antique prints.

Umberto Brunelleschi, known for his illustrations and stage designs (including work on Puccini's "Turandot"), and George Barbier was renowned for his versatility across various art forms, they were both the driving forces behind "La Guirlande." Barbier's contributions to the esteemed "Gazette du Bon Ton" further solidified his place in the Art Deco movement.

"La Guirlande" stands as a quintessential example of the Art Deco movement. This very limited-edition publication offers a captivating glimpse into the zenith of both Brunelleschi and Barbier's artistic careers and is highly sought after by collectors of vintage prints and Art Deco art.
